Mission: The Cadet Cruise
Location: Holodeck

[PREVIOUSLY]

"I'm interested." Then, to be sure she wasn't responding too hastily, she added, "As long as it won't get either of us in trouble--although I don't think it would, as long as we don't have anything we need to get done right away." She knew there would be down time, and she didn't mind giving up some sleep to be with Daniel.

"I'll do my best to keep us out of trouble, but I can't make any promises." Daniel replied with a smirk before adding. "But, either way... I am sure it will be worth it."

Her eyes met his for a long moment. "With you? I'm sure it will be."

Daniel looked back at her, smiling as he looked into her eyes. The time seemed to pass slightly before he finally snapped out of it and began, stuttering slightly. "So... uh... Would you like some punch or... maybe... we can play a game. Maybe a dance?"

"I like to dance," she admitted. Then she looked down at her costume. "As long as you aren't afraid I'll bite you."

Daniel held his hand out to her and smiled. "Is that supposed to scare me away?" He smirked a little.

She chuckled. "I hope not. But you know us dragons. Sometimes if we find something we really like, we just have to taste it."

He led her onto the dance floor and smiled before looking at her sternly. He put on a cheesy smirk before deepening his voice a bit and replying. "Groovy."

Meghan laughed, delighted with his response. Then she moved in closer and whispered, "I may just have to nibble you for that."

"I may just let you." Daniel whispered back with a wink.

She felt a jolt of electricity all the way to her toes, causing a corresponding blush to spread from her toes to the top of her head. She wasn't quite sure how to respond, so she put her head on his shoulder.

It was fortunate they were playing a slow song. He wouldn't want to embarrass himself by tripping over his own feet. With a smile, he took her hand in his and swayed with her and the music, resting his other hand on her lower back.

When she got her reaction to Daniel under control, Meghan straightened. "We need to do this when I don't have a tail."

Daniel just chuckled, holding her tight, as they moved back and forth with the music.

She had to admit--if only to herself--that she'd never enjoyed dancing this much before and it was entirely because of her partner.

They continued to dance together until the ghoul band took a break. By then, the holodeck was filled with cadets.

Thal entered onto the holodeck, looking around. As an Andorian, he’d never experienced Halloween until he arrived at the Academy in Earth. Even then, he’d never really taken to it. Yet, he felt it was important for him to make some social connections with the rest of the crew, and to try to befriend some fellow cadets. He’d been bored for companionship, as he didn’t know any of his fellow cadets. He hoped that would change.

He’d come dressed as a Knight, from the medieval era of Earth. His grey plate armour was highlighted with silver, and its rondels looked like white moons. His white great cloak was clasped with a silver miniature star. He grabbed himself a drink, and stood around and watched the party.

Saskia smiled when she spotted Thal, raising her hand to wave at him. "You come to defeat a dragon or a witch?" she called out, trying on her best witch-laugh, but ending up stopping half-way and giggling instead.

Thal grinned. “Not sure yet. You’ll have to wait and see. Nice costume by the way”.

The door to the holodeck opened with its characteristic whir-whoosh sound. Stood in the door frame was a muscular figure clad in green. It turned out to be the Klingon engineering cadet. Vibrant verdant boots stretched over her long feet, not looking to dissimilar to dark green KDF boots. Leather dyed with greens of various shades clung tight to her figure. Two amphibian eyes were painted along the crest of her forehead ridges. Bright green luminescent paint formed lines which ran down the sides of her leather jumpsuit. Patchy brown spots on her back matched the brown leather taking up her vertical center from clavicles to hips.

K’tarra entered and studied the haunted house, taking in the sights. After moving to grab a drink, she found herself not far from an Andorian talking with his female friend. She nodded to them and took her first sip. Her eyes seemed friendly enough. Her crimson orbs always seemed filled with a Klingon intensity.

The music for the dance floor paused for a couple of minutes. Daniel and Meghan went over to the new arrivals.

"Hi!" Meghan said, smiling at the group.

The Klingon woman covered in her tightly-wrapped emerald costume stepped forward. “Greetings”, said K’tarra smiling toothily. “I see we both chose terrifying Earth reptiles for the holiday. My choice was the frog”, said the woman in earnest.

"The large ones are pretty scary," Meghan said, smiling. "I am a Book Wyrm of the noble house of dragon." She gave her a half-bow. "Nice to meet you."

As Meghan and K’tarra began to talk, Thal turned to Daniel. “So, you’ll be our acting cadet CO huh? Nervous?”

"Training in Command." Daniel replied with a smile. "I'm not Acting anything. I'm here to learn just like everyone else. The only difference is..." He paused slightly, looking to Meghan for a moment, before returning his gaze to Thal. "Never mind."

Meghan understood how Daniel felt. She knew it wasn't nerves as much as his father that was the problem, but she wasn't going to say anything about that to the others.

Thal noticed Daniel looking at Meghan, and couldn’t help but be curious. He hadn’t heard anything about the two of them, but to be fair, he wasn’t exactly current on the ship’s gossip. “Regardless of what it’s called, I’m sure you’ll do an excellent job at it”.
