Personality & Traits

General Overview Prickly, proud and honourable, Thal is a prime example of an Andorian. Thal has a strong sense of right or wrong, and a goal to always be ethical. He has a questionable bedside manner, as he dislikes white lies and is always direct with his patients. Thal questions his ability at medicine, as he feels he’s a pretty lousy doctor.
Strengths & Weaknesses Thal has a very strong sense of right and wrong. He is very knowledgeable about medicine, especially in less practical areas such as Epidemiology, Medical Ethics, Public Health and Nutrition. He is also skilled at martial arts, thanks to many years of training and practise.

Thal often doubts his abilities are medicine. He lacks much practical and hands on experience. He is also a terrible shot with a phaser, to the extent that he has repeatedly failed his range qualification.
Ambitions Thal plans to become a doctor one day, and to eventually specialise in Epidemiology. He also wants to settle down to a nice medical position on a smaller vessel doing work within the Federation, as adventure and near death experiences are something he would rather avoid.
Hobbies & Interests Thal is fond of martial arts. He practises both Kharakom (an Andorian sport similar to Muay Thai), which he started as a child, and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, which he began to learn at the Academy.

Thal was also, unsurprisingly, interested in medicine and science. He was also a member of the Starfleet Academy Honour Guard, the Academy Medical Society, and was Secretary of the BJJ Club.
Languages Federation Standard and Andorii. Conversational in Vulcan.

Personal History Born in a small town in a mountainous region of Andor, Thal was raised in a mid sized clan. His parents worked in jobs that often required them to be away for extended periods of time, so the rest of the Clan often took on the role of raising him.

During his youth, Thal excelled at science related subjects. He completed his primary and secondary schooling with good marks, was involved in his school’s Science and Medical Club, and got a part time job at the local pharmacy.

Upon the completion of his education, Thal followed the advice of his parents, clan mates and bondmates by applying to Starfleet Medical. His application was accepted, he passed the necessary tests and exams, and completed the preparatory program.

Attending the Academy, Thal found it to be challenging. It was primarily a mixture of lectures, lessons and holo-programs, with some clinical rotations and the occasional internship mixed in.

Thal completed the undergraduate part of the medical program a short time ago, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science. He had only just started the postgraduate portion of the program, which is a Doctorate of Medicine, when he was invited aboard the USS Cavalier to attend a Cadet Cruise.
Medical Records Nothing more then a few cuts and bruises, and the occasional sickday.
Year in Academy Senior
Majors and/or Minors Completed a Bachelor’s of Health Science, specialising in Public Health. Undergoing a Doctorate of Medicine, specialising in Epidemiology.
